Up in the mountains: Stairs up
Wat Phra Phutabat Si Roy วัดพระพุทธบาทสี่รอย : A long winding way through the hills leads up to this sanctuary in the mountains: By a long stairway you reach a viharn giving shelter to four Buddha footprints. The legend says, that Lord Buddha Kakusantha (also Gooksantha) left the first 6 meters long footprint on the stone called Silaprade, he was followed by Lord Buddha Konakamanomana (also Gonakomna, 4.5 meters long), Lord Buddha Kasapah (Gassapa, 3.5 meters) and Lord Buddha Kotama (Gotama, 2 meters). The last of them made the prediction, that the next Buddha, named Buddha Pra Sri Ariya Mettrai, would come here, erase the previous footprints and put his footprint in place.

In 1928 Princess Dara Rasmi, the consort of King Chulalongkorn, built the wiharn over the footprint. Later Pra Kruba Sriwichai renovated the place. Again in 1993 Pra Kruba Pornchai, who led a group of monks and novices, renovated the temple.
